The following programs are required for this tutorial:

• Solvate (recommended): Available at

http://www.mpibpc.mpg.de/home/grubmueller/downloads/solvate/index.html

(be sure to add the following line to solvate.c before compilation: #include

<stdlib.h>)

Getting Started

You can ﬁnd the ﬁles for this tutorial in the mem-tutorial-files directory.

Below you c an see in Fig. 1 the ﬁles and directories of mem-tutorial-files.

To start VMD type vmd in a Unix terminal window, double-click on the VMD

application icon likely located in the Applications folder in Mac OS X, or click

on the Start → Programs → VMD menu item in Windows.
